Is Your Brand Hot or Not?

One of the biggest issues that clients typically come to me with is getting known within their target marget. While there are several things that must be done, having a strong brand presence is one of the first things you want to take care of. While it’s not necessary to have sealed up before you seek to get your first customers, it does position you more powerfully and will help increase your conversions exponentially. In order to develop a great and effective brand, you must have a branding strategy.

What is a Branding Strategy?

While having a great logo is necessary, a brand is not just a logo or a name, the logo represents your business identity. Therefore, it is a crucial part of the startup process for any business but it’s only one part of the process. Branding strategies are used to provide the fundamental steps and recognize the valuable tools that will help create a strong business brand. In general terms, a strong brand is one that people recognize and believe to deliver good quality. Have you ever found yourself at the grocery choosing one product over the other because it is the more recognized or trusted brand?

The objective of your branding strategy is to recognize what could turn your business into a trusted brand name. How can you make people trust your brand and its reputation? What should you do to communicate the objective and mission of your company? What is the message you are trying to send out to produce loyal customers? What feelings do you want to evoke when someone experiences your brand by way of your emails and products and services. A sound business branding strategy will help you find answers to these questions and more allowing you to establish a brand for your company that will do very well in the market.

Creating Your Name, Logo and Website

Coming up with a name for your business goes hand in hand with creating a logo that will identify your company. When it comes to logos, always opt for something unique. Logos will be utilized in your advertising and marketing campaigns, so it must be well-recognized.

For beginners, your logo should very easily readily indicate to clients and prospects the nature of your business – such as whether you are in the food, automotive, or telecommunications business. Therefore, you should choose images that are associated with the nature of your business and the products and services they used to represent it.

Develop a Great Slogan or Tagline

Once your logo is designed, start to think of a slogan that will reinforce the message you are trying to communicate to the market. As long as you keep this part brief and straightforward, then this can be an effective branding tool for your business. This tagline will serve as an additional touch to the main message you are trying to give, thus giving you an edge over your competitors and highlighting the unique experience or service that customers will have when they engage your services.

One advantage that you have with including a tagline is that it is not permanent, unlike the logo. Therefore, if you begin a new marketing strategy, your tagline can be changed to highlight your new marketing gameplan. A tagline then opens up several opportunities to expand your marketing campaigns, as compared to the static nature of a logo because developing a logo that represents your company takes more in depth work and takes more time to establish.

Using Powerful Colors and Images

Just like logos, colors and images can be used to establish the identity of your business. Colors are a powerful source for helping to elicit emotions. Therefore, you need to carefully pick out exactly what type of color you are going to use in your logo in accordance with the image and personality of your business. Try to conduct a little bit of research about the different qualities of color types so you can determine exactly what best to use for your company.

Communicate Your Unique Services

When communicating your company brand into the market, highlight the services that only you can offer. If you can guarantee a service that none of your competition can, you have an edge over the competition. You can use that as a primary marketing strategy to draw more people into your prospect funnel. An example of this would be a time guarantee on your delivery services, if you’re in the food business.

Branding your business is instrumental in influencing a memorable response in the minds of your chosen audience. It helps increase the perceived value and ultimately helps to take your business to the next level. Use these branding elements in your strategy and you will start to cement a positive branded image for your business.

5 Powerful Website Conversion Strategies that Sell

No sales conversation is complete without a closing. If you don’t ask for the sale…well you’re not going to make a sale. It’s imperative to ask for the sale if you want it. There are actually a number of techniques to close the sale in your web copy. I’m going to share five of the most common and effective ways that allow your website to close the sale for you. However, before I share these techniques, you should know that authenticity is your first priority. Whether you use one or all of these strategies, ALWAYS be honest, true to you and implement them in your own authentic voice. Ready… Let’s go!

1. Reduce Price Perception
One of the reasons many people fail to make a purchase is that the item costs too much. They are ready to purchase and then the price stops them. When they’re seeking justification for their buying decision they just can’t find it. You can reduce the price perception by using a few techniques.
For example, you have probably heard the “For less than a cup of coffee a day,” price comparison. When you compare the price to other things which are more expensive or break it down into a daily cost suddenly your price doesn’t seem as steep.
You might also provide a comparison. For example, “a total value of $1000 but is yours for only $150.”
Finally letting your prospect pay in installments is a very effective way to help them overcome the price perception.

2. Scarcity or Urgency
You can only use scarcity or urgency if it is truly scarce or urgent. For example, you cannot tell people that they must buy now because the price is going up next week and then fail to raise the price. That tactic will get you into trouble with your prospects.
Scarcity and urgency motivate your prospect to take action right now. Common examples include:
Only 10 left!
Buy now, limited number of copies
Buy now before the price goes up

3. Reverse the Risk with a Money Back Guarantee
Many people are afraid to do this because they don’t want people to fraudulently return products. And the truth is that you may get some people who return your product. However, you’ll also sell way more products and close many more sales if you offer a simple guarantee. Include it right below your final call to action.

4. Postscript
Interestingly enough, studies have found that when people read sales pages they often skip right to the bottom of the page. They read the P.S or postscript. If you have a few compelling postscripts, they can make the difference between a sale and a click away. Under your call to action include at least one P.S. You can of course include more. Simply recap the main benefits of your product.

5. Increase the Value by Including Bonuses
Ever notice that some sales pages seem to offer bonuses that are more valuable than the actual product? It’s not uncommon to see a sales page with dozens of bonuses. It might look a little silly but at some point the prospect will start to think, “I absolutely have to buy, the value is just too good to pass up.” The bonus offers usually come after the call to action. On television it’s the “But wait, there’s more” list of offers. Make sure that the bonuses are relevant to your offer, don’t go overboard with your bonuses and ensure that they will be perceived as valuable.

Closing the sale can involve one or a few of these techniques. Test and track them to find out which techniques your audience responds to. You may find that your sales page doubles in conversions with a simple closing technique.

5 Tips to Authentically Connect with Your Prospect

Step into Your Next Level of Greatness

If you’ve been stuck with moving things forward, I’d like to help you make a major shift allowing you to step into your next level of greatness. I’m going to share with you an excercise that we’ll call The Future You - NOW!

Now I’d like for you to grab a sheet of paper and write a statement about one of your goals based on one of the three questions below. Be sure that the statement is date driven and specific.

1.) If I didn’t have to work for a living what would I love to do?

2.) If I were given $10 million dollars (tax free!) what would I do with it? (Of course you’d pay the bills,
but after that) No limits here, write it ALL down!

3) If I found out I had six (healthy) months to live, what would I do with the rest of my life? When I did this exercise a few years ago, I answered this question: If I didn’t have to work for a living what would I love to do? Here’s what I wrote:

**************************************************************
On January 1, 2009, I will have a successful non-profit organization called Joyful Transformations where we
help to edify the mind, body, heart and spirit of young girls through leadership development and personal
enrichment programs. Joyful Transformations will touch the lives of at least 100 girls by December 31, 2009.
**************************************************************

After you write your statement, you’re going to now put your reticular activation system to work by verbalizing it three times a day — morning, afternoon and night. Doing it the first thing in the morning is critical because it will help set the tone for the rest of your day. Think about what happens if you were to get into an argument with someone before you start your work day. What happens..it totally shapes the mood of your day – right.

This is no different and believe me when I say it works. Now here’s the caveat: you must start to do the things that it will take to get you to your future self. No it’s not going to magically show up. But when you start affirming it daily, it activates the subconcious and conscious mind simultaneously. You’ll have a relentless desire to get to where you’re hoping to be and you’ll make commitments to yourself about it. I took it one step further and told about 3 people about my future self which made me not only keep the promise to myself but those 3 people kept me accountable to it as well.

So now you have it! You’re ready to boldly move into your next level of greatness. Now it’s time to get busy.

Oh and if you’re curious…yes my future me did come to be. Joyful Transformations is alive and running well. Our first 10 week program was on Friendships and we’ve had many more successful programs since our launch .  Click here to learn more about the JTI evolution.

That’s my story…what’s yours?

I Dare You to Be Unstoppable!!

If you understood the story behind my glory, you would “get” why my Vision is so stretched, my Focus is so fierce and my Passion is so powerful that I will not be denied — no matter what! ~Felicia

I’ve witnessed so many people pretty much throw in the towel and give up their dreams, goals and desires. It’s sad and unfortunate that they have allowed a few naysayers get in their way, cause them to get distracted and lose sight of their vision.  The vision that was built around something that would provide increase and abundance for their family or would impact someone else’s life in a great way. You’ve probably heard someone tell you time and time again ‘don’t give up’ or don’t lose sight of your dreams. Now more than ever is the time to really dig deep and stay focused and committed to you. Don’t allow someone else’s fear take you off your game and cause you to block your own blessings. You do not need anyone’s approval in order to move your vision into motion.

If you’re really ready to make a change, you have to be willing to do what others will not do and you will start to see amazing things show up in your life. We all have access and the ability to have the same things but some people simply are not willing to put in the work and I know that’s not you. You must be bold, gutsy and unstoppable but before you can get there, your foundation must be solid.

For those of you who are stuck and need something to get you moving, the five tips below are written with you in mind. Use them to kickstart your momentum and get yourself back on track!

1. Your Why - Your ‘why’ must be so strong that the mere thought of not reaching that dream brings tears to your eyes – literally. If it doesn’t make you get emotional, your why is not big enough and you will be easily distracted by the noise of other people who simply can not and will not get your vision.

2. Your BHAG’s  – Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals is a term coined by authors Jerry Porras and James Collins. BHAGs are bold and may even cause your voice of reason to tell you that the goal is unreasonable, However, your passion, your ‘Why’ and economic engine will immediately kick in and keep you moving forward. Get your dream grounded in a Big Why and a BHAG, and you’ll not only be incredible but also be unstoppable.

3. Your Accountability - Take responsibility for your actions and your circumstances without blaming others or feeling like a victim of circumstance. Start looking in the mirror more instead of out the window. Get an accountability partner — someone you trust who will hold your feet to the fire, keep you accountable and stretch you outside of your comfort zone. Without this, it will be easy for you to make excuses to give up.

4. Your Action - Forget about what people will think or say and put your butt on the line for what you want. Turn off the tv, stop whining and start winning by taking action. If you are serious and have a BHAG, you must multiply your efforts and take massive action. This means that your level of activity and action must match your goals. If you have a laissez-faire attitude about your dreams, they will return the same to you but in a much bigger way. Change your attitude, gratitude and action and watch what happens…

5. Your Intention  - When you wake up every morning before you place a foot on the floor, set your intention and be fully present and aware of your needs, priorities and expectations for the day. Make your intention present and active in everything you do for the day. How you start is how you finish…Start strong and finish even stronger!!

3 Simple Tips to Defining a Target Market that Sizzles

Defining your target market is one of the most important things you’ll ever do in your business. This one decision may very well determine whether or not you’ll have a profitable business a few weeks or months from now. How do you find your target market? Where do you look for ideas? Once you have a target market in mind, how do you research it? Here’s 3 simple tips to get you in action:

Know What to Look For in a Market
There are several factors that make for a good target market. The first factor is that the market is small enough that you can be a major player, but not so small that you can’t make good money. For example, you wouldn’t want to start a new online dating site because Match.com and eHarmony clearly have the market in a stronghold. However, you probably don’t want to start a site on underwater basket weaving, as it’s too small to make any money.

The second factor is that there is money being spent. Sure, “dog pictures” may not have a major player – But chances are, there’s no money being made! The best markets are markets that have a problem that needs to be solved. People who have problems are more willing to spend money.

Know Where to Look for Ideas
There are several great places to look for target market ideas. The first is Google Trends. Google Trends will give you a good idea of what things are hot right now. This can often help you identify new target markets and become a major player before others hop on the bandwagon.
Another great place to look is Amazon Magazines. If there’s enough of a market for a magazine, chances are there’s enough of a market for you to make money online. eBay Pulse is another great place to look. Again, you’re looking for potential markets where you can become a major player.

Know How to Research a Target Market
Once you have an idea, then what? How do you do your research to see if it’s viable? The first step is to check the volume to make sure there’s enough traffic for you to make a living. You can do this through checking the Google Keyword Tool.
Once you’ve made sure you can actually make enough money for it to be worth your while, the next step is to get to know the market and the market’s spending habits. There are two main places you should look: Your competitors and the niche forums.
How are your competitors doing? Are they selling high ticket items, or are they scraping by with advertising? Are AdWords bids high or low? These factors will help you determine how much money is being spent. Take a look at the niche forums to find out what are typical problems people have in this market. If someone asks a question and others say “I have that same issue!” then you should definitely take note.

Once you’ve brainstormed a few niche markets, identified the ones with promise and then narrow them down to the winners through a good research process, then the next step is to take action and make it happen.
